Similar to her Mom’s Secret Fort podcast, Schermerhorn’s blog will be rooted in her own original ideas. She looks forward to reflecting on her studies at the University of Edinburgh as an MSc Student focused on Data, Inequality & Society. A Moth Story Slam Winner, Schermerhorn is known for weaving personality into her storytelling presentation. Proud of her time as an American mom living in Germany, Schermerhorn’s blog will also shine the spotlight on German language & culture, including her experience as President of the American Women’s Club of Berlin and an organizing volunteer for AWC Berlin Charity Auction.

Focused on building stronger communities, Schermerhorn is a dedicated volunteer, storyteller and nonprofit leader. During the height of the COVID-19 / coronavirus pandemic, Schermerhorn shared her experiences as an American mom living in Berlin, Germany on her podcast, Mom’s Secret Fort.
