BOSTON, MA, Feb 10, 2020 – Writer and Philanthropist Geannette Wittendorf has dedicated a series on her personal blog to promoting the Special Olympics and their Revolution on Inclusion campaign.
Wittendorf is a proud supporter of all things Olympics, but holds a special place in her heart for the Special Olympics and all it has to offer for athletes and their families who are faced with the obstacles of learning to live with intellectual disabilities.
A total sports fanatic at heart, Geannette believes sports are more than just a reason to get active. She believes sports to be an outlet for athletes to come together and be a part of something much bigger than themselves, fostering personal growth, leadership and inclusion.
That’s why the Special Olympics hold true to Wittendorf. One of the mottos for this incredible sports community is that “the revolution is inclusion.” Their main goal is to create an inclusive world for all of the athletes and their families to join together in the sake of celebrating what makes us all different and unique. For over 50 years, they have fostered a global movement aimed towards breaking down barriers of discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities.
The idea that one community can bring individuals from every corner of the earth together and find solace in knowing they are not alone and are capable of greatness, is something she personally admires indefinitely.
Through her blog series, Geannette Wittendorf will offer insight and details on all things athletic, with attention to the Special Olympics and what it has to offer. With her extensive knowledge of sports and athletics across the board, she is excited to share her passion with those who are interested in a movement that brings all of our differences together through sports.
